Hi, everyone.
Had a lot of side gigs last week. I was pet sitting, helping someone who had stuff in their house going back to 1965 to dig out, pack, and load in a trailer so they could move, AND babysitting. I even did a shift at a bakery that stocks events like Dickens Faire and Ren Faire with scones, shortbread, and rum cakes. A lot of days involved running back and forth to more than a couple of these while still doing my personal training sessions, and trying to get in some writing. I wasn’t just double dipping here, I was like… (~counts on fingers~)…uh… quadruple dipping?
I made some good money, but folks… I am TIRED. I slept like 16 hours yesterday, and I need some quality time staring at a show I’m not really watching.
Which is just to say that I’m a little behind on posting, and I know it. But the first thing I need to do is write some newsletters to my Patreons. They are the ones helping me keep my rent paid and keep the lights on around here. And if I’m ever going to be able to say no to side gigs or yet another personal training client, it’s going to be because my Patrons make it possible.
However, it’s not too late to see this month’s newsletter or get in on any other reward tiers you might want. And it’s never too late to start helping out by supporting your local cute author in their efforts to provide almost every word they write to the world for free. As we move into tumultuous times economically, and I begin to shift the very essence of what my career is going to look like, moving forward, there couldn’t be a better time to become a supporter.
Almost everything I write is available to the public. All the articles about my practice being a priest of The Morrigan, about writing, about social justice, about my goings on, and—coming soon—about fitness. The closest thing I have to exclusive content is some Patreon tiers that are my small way of saying thank you to folks who keep me flush in One is a monthly newsletter with some behind-the-scenes updates. The other is a quarterly newsletter I write with a more personal slant about my feelings and life updates. It looks a little further to the ambitions of the future and does a bit more fee-fees-caliber unpacking of the past. Other than that though, everything is and will always be free. You may see a compilation or a book format of some of my future writing, but you can always get it here on the blog for no cost.
But I have to survive capitalism like everyone else. And if I can’t make ends meet by writing, I have to go help people move and babysit their kids and pets and take on more personal training clients.
So if you like what I do here, and wish to see me keep doing it, please consider a small contribution to the cause. An almost insignificant monthly donation ($3) will get you that first newsletter and help me keep producing the content you find valuable and get a kick out of.
